Juegos Trabajo Trabajar | Book Marketing – Amazon Book Sales – How To Increase Your Book’s Visibility In Amazon’s Search Results

May 28th, 2010 Bob B Taylor No comments

juegos Amazon book sales are very important to most authors and publishers, and there are several ways to boost your book’s visibility on Amazon.com. Customers on Amazon typically search for books by author, title, or keyword. Like search engines, Amazon uses several criteria in deciding which products to display on the search results page and in what order to display them. Popularity (the number of Amazon book sales already made) and how well the book matches the keywords are major factors in determining the results of keyword searches.

trabajo There can be many reasons why a book is not selling, such as the wrong distributor, wrong time, pool grammar, no exposure, or simply a very bad appearance. The title could be attracting the wrong buyer. The cutest title in the world may be a very bad choice for your target market. Some books require a makeover after they have been poorly published to have a more updated and attractive appearance. The cover, back cover and the inside layout may have been carelessly designed and not what an author had hoped it would be.

trabajar Does the type style or size of the font fit the title and subject of the book? This applies to the graphics, photographs or illustrations also. Are your color choices sending the right message? All factors must be taken in to account to represent the message of the book properly.

Art is very subjective. This is why we must design our “book look” to our target market. However, not everyone will react the same way. We react to stimuli based on two things, our genetics (science) and our experiences (art.) This combination can make a book cover intriguing or not.

The back cover must convey a broader message. If the cover is the hook to lure the reader in, the back is the closing argument. Many back covers just do not close the deal. They wander off at times, do not stay on message, or can be graphically disturbing. Sometimes too much information can be a distraction that detracts from your message. In many instances, the makeover of a back cover can prove to be the key to a book making an impression, getting recognition and improving sales.

Another way to increase your “popularity” on Amazon is do a virtual book tour or an “Amazon best-seller campaign,” designed to push up your Amazon sales rank by generating a large number of orders on a single day.

There are a number of other ways to promote your book on Amazon, including getting lots of good Amazon reviews, writing reviews of other related books, participating in the Look Inside program, enhancing your book description, participating in Amazon forums for your book’s topic, and creating Listmania lists and So You’d Like To guides You can be published without charge. Looking for Article Marketing Books? While there is so much out there on the Internet that can be found about article marketing. It's important to find something that will be able to teach you everything from beginner procedures to advanced working techniques.

books, which is actually an Internet marketing community and must have for any serious marketer here at WAU TimesDay-to-day networking

Opportunities to promote your book often exist throughout the day in conversations with friends, acquaintances and colleagues and even with complete strangers whom you may get chatting too. Get into the habit of carrying some information about the book so that if people do express an interest to find out more you can provide it instantly, rather than relying on strangers to look your book up later. Many authors carry around a copy of their book as well, once printed, to events and meetings where they feel there will be some interest.

Authors previously have also taken some information on their book on holiday, or on a cruise, or to parties they get invited to and have generated lots of interest amongst fellow travellers or party-goers that way. Other authors set up book signings at their offices in their lunch hour and do amazingly well! There are no hard and fast rules, but the more you mention your book to people, the more awareness will be raised.

In addition, a taskforce of friends and family can distribute more information about the book wither by pinning information up at work or on social club notice boards, handing out leaflets, or simply by word of mouth.

Clubs/associations and professional bodies

Many authors are also members of social or professional organisation/clubs/associations, and these can provide a great opportunity at which to publicise your book as well. Most clubs/associations and societies have a web page, a newsletter and list of members. Find out if you can get a snippet placed in the newsletter (often, newsletter editors are desperate for content, and the offer of providing some information is usually gratefully received).

Can you link to your author web page from the clubs/association web page? If you are a member of a club, can you arrange an evening to discuss your book and do a signing? Can you donate copies for a competition prize in exchange for some publicity? If you are a member of a professional society – and your book covers topics relevant to that society – can you garner interest and publicity that way?

Think about any associations or clubs you are involved with, and see what contacts you can use to get some publicity. Several authors have done some dinner speaking, talking about their book at social club events. Others have arranged seminars and used their books as a “class text”. Authors also regularly visit primary schools to read and talk about their books (by arrangement with head teachers).

Email

Circulate information via email to friends and colleagues, or people that you know will be interested. (Please make yourself aware of the Data Protection Act before doing to avoid inadvertently breaking the guidelines – these can be found online if you are worried). You could circulate an email on the launch date announcing the new book and request that people send it on to interested parties.

Add a line to the bottom of your “email signature” (usually easy to set up in your email). For instance, you could add a line with information about your book and a web link to your author page.

For example, if you are Malcolm Noble, your signature might be “the exhilarating new thriller by Malcolm Noble is out now, go to anybooksalessite.co.uk/book_ifo.asp?bookid=281″

Book signings/book launches/book readings

Local (usually independent, but branches of larger chains can be helpful) bookshops are usually happy to host book launches, in return for some publicity. If you are confident you can get “rent a crowd” together, then approach local bookshops, speak to manager and ask about holding a launch. Most managers are very positive about such events, especially if it will bring new customers into their store. They will usually publicise the event within the shop as well, and we have had many instances where they have also provided refreshments free of charge!

Book launches can take place anywhere, and are not limited to book stores. For example garden centres, in the office, in local shops, etc can all be used. Think of the places which may attract you target audience, and see if you can arrange launches during busy periods (Saturday morning is the best time).

Think Local

What about contacting local parish magazines or community newsletters? Try cultivating a relationship with local libraries. Are they able to help by placing information on a notice board, in the window or by arranging a reading event? Contact local writers' or readers' groups and offer to speak about your experiences of writing and publishing. Offer the book as a recommendation for readers' groups and go along to talk about it (this can be valuable process for you as an author as well, receiving feedback on your work). What about putting yourself forward as an after dinner speaker?

Effective and Free Online Book Marketing: GetTraffic and Cash Today

Create an Author Web Site and Begin to Market

After you have penned your latest manuscript, edited it and polished it, you might say, “I want my book to bring in cash today!” First, you should create an Author web site with your book cover, a blurb, and an excerpt. You want to create something that will attract constant and future readers. Here are a few techniques for book marketing that can bring readers to your website, and encourage them to buy the book you’re selling.

Links to the Web

Post the URL of your Web site into as many other Web sites as you can think of. Get a link exchange going between you and other authors in the same genre as you. Don’t forget about Facebook, MySpace and Twitter; post your URL on all of your social networking pages, in your E-mails and as a signature in forums. This is, by far, the easiest and quickest way to direct readers to your Web site.

Create Time Square Banners

Create bright and colorful banners for your author Web site and any other blogs or Web sites that you own. Adding pictures or a symbol to your banner is a great way to garner more interest. Add a logo or a tagline, and definitely a name, and/or the Web site’s URL. Be sure to set up the banner to click to your author Web site. Banners are comparable to billboards, in that you can alter it how you see fit, and put them anywhere on your Web site as you see fit. Think of your banner as an advertisement, like a Billboard like in Time Square. Put your banner where the most traffic goes on your web site to get the most attention.

Create a Book Web Site

Build a Web site that is solely for your book and its characters. These types of Web sites are mostly used as promotional tools, because you can discuss your books and their new developments. This is really attractive with a serial. Try not to limit your creativity; after all, imagination doesn’t require you invest cash today in order to create. Post character bios, short stories and even pictures. You can also offer to continue the story online for free, which is a great way to increase traffic and sell your book. The more creative you think, the higher your potential sales will be.

Book Interviews

Participate in and conduct interviews with fellow writers and authors to gain exposure on their Web site when they publish the interview, and vice versa. During the interview, try to showcase some charisma, excitement and life. Talk about your characters and their motivations. Discuss your past books and upcoming ones while giving your opinion on the writing process. Oh, and sell your book in the process!

Blogs and Guest Blogging

It’s a very good idea to start a blog so that you can discuss your book, characters and your views about the writing process. It’s not difficult to start a blog. The two most popular free blogs on the World Wide Web are Blogger.com and Wordpress.com. The difficult – yet tried and true – trick when it comes to blogging is to provide useful content for your guest readers while not shamelessly self-promoting your own book. After all, not many people like sitting through commercials. Most definitely invite a guest blogger to your site to share their knowledge and provide useful information. Guests will, in turn, visit your blog, which will increase your blog’s traffic. What are you waiting for – somebody to do it all for you? Get your cash today!

Planning a Book Marketing

Just because you succeed in publishing your book, it doesn’t mean that everyone is going to come rushing to buy it. Consequently, it is imperative that you search for the best means of marketing your book.

The following are just a few book marketing tips to get you started on your way to success:

The more Amazon book sales you generate, the more books you will sell in the future, because your book will appear higher in the search results when customers search by your keywords. In addition, many customers assume that the best-selling book must be the best one on the topic.

One way to increase your Amazon book sales, and therefore your search results placement, is to direct all of your online book orders to Amazon, rather than offering several options on your website.

Build a Website or Blog

I always recommend leveraging the amazing distribution power that comes from marketing your book online. Here are a few quick things to keep in mind as you do so:

Make sure that you include the name of your book in your website or blog title so that it is easy to find when others are searching for it online. Your blog should be designed to help convert incoming traffic to buyers of your book.

One great way to do this is to put together a newsletter that visitors to your site may subscribe to. Once they sign up, you can continue to follow up with them via email. They’ll get to know you better that way, and will be all the more likely to buy your book.

You can’t use keywords that already appear in Amazon’s search function, such as the book title or author name. Word order matters, so create different search tags with variations on your most important keywords.

You can personally submit up to ten search terms for your book. If you have additional search terms to enter, ask a colleague to enter some for you. You can also ask colleagues to “vote” for the existing tags on the page by clicking the check box next to the tags.

Another way to increase your “popularity” on Amazon is do a virtual book tour or an “Amazon best-seller campaign,” designed to push up your Amazon sales rank by generating a large number of orders on a single day.

There are a number of other ways to promote your book on Amazon, including getting lots of good Amazon reviews, writing reviews of other related books, participating in the Look Inside program, enhancing your book description, participating in Amazon forums for your book’s topic, and creating Listmania lists and So You’d Like To guides

A Special INTERNET BOOK MARKETING Report:
From One Goal Oriented Online Work At Home Professional to Another

During a recession like this, finding new ways to increase profits is often the most rewarding experience for every entrepreneur.

What are the options? Low and behold, it is no surprise that the absolute top way that is discovered for the corporate executive to make a difference is to find ways to market a book and make it a bestseller.

Wonderful, you’ve made the decision to publish and market a book. Congratulations, success is in your future! A book can give you credentials and help you to draw more customers to your business. If such things are your only reasons, then it would be important to learn to market your book fast. But you might miss one of the best reasons for having a book if you just concentrate on getting it done fast. That reason is to make money

Getting an eternal bestseller credential and attracting more clients can actually be achieved quicker and easier says top business coach DrProactive Randy Gilbert, if you “slow down and take some time to create a bestselling business around your book”. He says that you will be rewarded with an outstandingbook, higher profits, and a passive income far in excessive of what you would have otherwise made with just a book.

It can make you a bestselling author, and a millionaire at the same time, which is why DrProactive named “bestselling business”. Getting busy and starting to write and market a book that has a business created as an integral part of it, is crucial.

There are a number of components that can help market your book successfully, no matter what its subject. If you want to sell lots of copies and make it a bestseller, then some features are essential. For instance, it is common knowledge that you need to have an ISBN number and an EAN barcode, plus certain bindings and features, so that retail bookstores can sell your books for you.

However, if you add certain less well known features to your book, you will hugely expand your book’s marketability. For instance, almost every New York Times Bestseller has certain features and it would be wise to incorporate them into your book so that you improve your chances of being one of them too.

Below are 7 of the top book features that will make your book much easier to market and promote to bestseller status. When you incorporate these features into your book from the beginning, your book will have an enormous advantage over the other books on the shelf.

Feature 1 – Choose a powerful theme and build it out. Give your book a zesty title that grabs attention. Outline your book and be specific with what you want in it so you attract the right people. Just gathering a list of your best ideas and putting a cover on it is not enough. You may get a book written quickly, but it probably won’t sell very well. You want something that you (and others) will be proud to promote.

Feature 2 – Get stories from people other than yourself and you will be viewed as the expert of experts. Ask people to share a personal story in such a way that it has a self-help element. You’ll reach many more people with stories that teach the reader how to apply a lesson to their own problem than just a dry list of instructions. In every story, you should mix in Tips, strategies, insider secrets, specific examples, and important resources, whether they be from you or someone else.

Feature 3 – You can build in marketing value by quoting the top people in your field. Choose the quotes wisely so that they match the theme of each of your sections. Consider using quotes from “live” people who might be flattered enough so that they tell others to buy it and help with promoting your book to their customer list. And, they might even buy some for themselves to give away to colleagues and special clients.

Feature 4 – Be proactive in asking for interviews and endorsements, and selecting a great person to write the Foreword of your book. Interview other experts if you can and use the opportunity to get relevant examples for your section of the book and audio clips for promotion. These interviews and endorsements will add credibility to your book.

Feature 5 – List all of the people and organizations who helped in creating the book. You might also seek a corporate sponsor who might fund some of the expenses in exchange for a prominent mention in the book. Finding a partner to sponsor you in your book promotion is often very beneficial.

Feature 6 – Your book will be much easier to read and reference if you include an index. This is often an overlooked feature, however it makes your book more saleable to libraries, which of course is a huge buyer of books and will increase your reading audience..

Feature 7 – Make a list of associations, organizations, services, agencies, and other professionsals in fields around the subject of your book, and include it in your book as a topical rolodex in the resource section of your book. This will broaden your audience and it might even cause some of the leaders/owners to actually purchase quantities of your book for distribution.

Bonus Feature – Include a bibliography. Many people want to buy copies of books that reference their own book in a bibliography. Also, it makes your book more attractive those doing research. You can list the books of all the authors who were interviewed, quoted, or who gave stories and examples.

SUMMARY:

The more features above you can add to your book, the easier it will be to market and promote. Especially focus on the features that get other people involved in your book, because the more that you involve others and promote them, the more likely they will help you in promoting your book… it is called the Law of Reciprocity and it works like a charm.

If you want to know more about write and market a book that produces revenue and becomes a bestseller, then follow the secret formula that the top 1% use to successfully achieve that goal. Make a decision to use the Key Factors outlined above and keep your eye on the ball, and you’ll knock it out of the park

Book Marketing on a Budget

Looking for Article Marketing Books? While there is so much out there on the Internet that can be found about article marketing. It’s important to find something that will be able to teach you everything from beginner procedures to advanced working techniques.

books, which is actually an Internet marketing community and must have for any serious marketer here at WAU Times Article writing is essentially marketing a product or website via the medium of articles written on the Internet. It can be done for free, as most article directories will allow you submit quality content to their databases for free.

This is what makes this form of marketing so accessible to everyone, that wants to make money online. How do you make money? Simple. You submit an article with a link to the product/website that you want to promote. Then, someone reads the article, they click the link through to the website/product page and buy the product, if interested. If they buy you earn a commission because you referred them.

When it comes to choosing the right books make sure you don’t fall for the hundreds of scams out there promising that you can make thousands of dollars overnight. There are many techniques to article marketing, but there is one that has been proven time and time again. Any true article marketing will adhere to this technique because it’s proven. Online Book Marketing – The 5 Things Authors Get Wrong

June 29th, 2009 Bob B Taylor No comments

Online Book Marketing

The more I work with writers to help them grasp the ins and outs of online book marketing, the more I see that there are 5 basic and fundamental mistakes that more than 90% of authors make time and time again.

If you don’t fall victim to these five book marketing fiascoes, you’ll be ahead of the pack…way, way ahead. So, here are five things to avoid when marketing your books online:

1. Faulty Keyword Research

This is the #1 big kahuna and the place where 99% of authors quite simply stuff it up.

Many of the authors I’ve worked with haven’t had success online for one simple reason — they aren’t approaching it the way an Internet marketer would. The biggest problem is that there’s no plan — no plan to find relevant keywords, and to get rankings for those keywords, which is really what it’s all about.

To succeed online isn’t rocket science, but it does mean that you need to truly grasp the concept of keyword research, of long-tail keywords, and how to determine which keywords are worth going after and which aren’t.

Thankfully there are tools out there that do all three. You can find them at the links at the end of this article. Make sure you check them out.

2. Thin Content

Surprisingly enough, even prolific writers with dozens of books under their belt — gifted authors who can write volumes on their subject — somehow think that they can skate by online with just a couple pages (or even paragraphs!) of content.

Not true.

The reality is this — you need lots and lots of content to keep the search engines happy.

This is why huge portals like Wikipedia can manage to attract so many visitors. Google’s index includes millions of pages from their site.

How many pages would you say are in Google’s index from your site? My best guess would put it somewhere between two and five.

You’ll never rank well for anything other than your name with that kind of site. Bottom line: there’s no way to shortchange people online and not have it come back to haunt you.

Stop looking at your site as though it were a high-tech dust jacket. Solve a problem for someone — that’s what your book does, right? So do it online, and do it for free, before you start asking people to buy your book.

3. Not paying enough — or any — attention to Social Marketing & Web 2.0

If you haven’t noticed, the Internet is changing. In just the past couple of years, sites like Facebook, Digg, YouTube, and EzineArticles.com, as well as services like Twitter, have revolutionized how we interact online.

The old style media formula of editors deciding what people would read and see is gone — now we have a bottom-up approach where real people decide what makes news.

If you’re not using the sites mentioned above, along with about 100 others that can help you sell more books, you’re missing the biggest sea change in online marketing that you’ve ever seen.

(Just check out the links I’ve given you below for the resources that will make it easy to find tons of sites that can help you sell more books.)

4. Failing to Build a Loyal Following

It’s incredible how many authors don’t jump on the most useful online marketing tool there is — the ability to build a base of support and loyal fans through tools like mailing lists, or “followers” on Twitter, or subscribers to an RSS feed, or any number of other methods that traditional Internet marketers simply take for granted.

It’s pretty obvious why this is so important — people who already know your work and trust you are already going to be predisposed to buying from you.

If someone has decided to buy one of your books, they’re going to be the easiest person to sell to when your 2nd, 3rd and 4th books come out.

But if you have no way to reach the people who bought your first book, you’re going to have to go through the entire “customer-acquisition” process each and every time for every new book.

Wouldn’t things be easier if you could just blast off an email or two to people who are already your fans?

Or simply to create a blog post to announce another book?

This is exactly the way an author can build an empire.

5. Trying to Sell Your Book

Huh? That’s definitely a mistake? But that’s the main point, right?

Sometimes.

The basic argument I’m making here is that simply focusing only on book sales — and ignoring the other stuff, like #4 above — means that you’re shortchanging yourself when it comes to building a loyal base of fans online. And it’s this “base” that can be relied on to buy things from you over and over again.

What’s better, selling one or two books a day now, or selling thousands of books a day a year from now?

Stop struggling.

You can build an information empire just like Internet marketers do. Stop trying to sell a book or two here and there. Start concentrating on producing fantastic content for the people who would benefit from your book.

Sales (like you’ve never experienced before!) will inevitably follow closely behind.

If you’re not making a full-time income selling your books online, you’re missing something.

There’s no doubt in my mind that at least 90% of authors make vital — but ultimately avoidable — errors when trying to market books online.
